Greetings from Ms. Hoopes' 4th grade class! I hope all is going well and we are all enjoying the beautiful weather. Just wanted to send an email with some dates of upcoming events.

 

 

 

Assessments: 

 

 

We survived all the assessments again this year! The students preformed outstanding! Our movie and popcorn day will be Friday, April 24th. We will be going bowling Tuesday, April 28th.

 

Art Field Trip:

 

 

 

 

Reading Logs: April Reading Logs are due Thursday, April 30th.

 

 

 

Social Studies:

 

We are finished with our science rotation and moving onto Social Studies. We will begin with Chapter 3 and 4, The Eastern States. Your child will be working with a partner and doing a presentation over one of the states. (Students will choose these today). They will also be responsible for knowing all 50 states locations and their capitals. Don't worry we will take these a region at a time. Students should be studying these every night. Your child has a labeled map to practice with. We will have a pre-test and post-test in the next couple of weeks. The dates to know are listed below. Once your child knows his/her Eastern States, he/she can start practicing the South. Please let me know if you have any questions. You might want to print the schedule for your records.               April 29 and 30: Midwest State Reports

 

              May 1st: South, Midwest and East State Reports

 

 

 

West: May 12: All 50 State and Capital Pre-test

 

         May 13 and 14: West State Reports

4th Grade will be going to Benton to see the Glass Blower the morning of Thursday, April 30. We will back in time for lunch.
